Against a backdrop that captures the beauty and majesty of the Sierra Nevada Foothills, the history of the wine producing industry unfolds, from its beginnings during the famous Gold Rush days, to its early 20th century descent, 1970's revival and present day spiral, because of the dedication and tenacity of those who persevered in their quest to grow the choicest grapes and adorn tables with their finest wines. In personal interviews, the winemakers exhibit an innate pride in their colorful history and in the 'liquid gold' that bears their names.
